Liz Hurley Ribbon Run

Oct 19, 2013

The 10th annual Liz Hurley Ribbon Run will take place on Saturday, October 19 starting at the corner of Lowe Avenue and Adams Street, and ending at Huntsville Middle School.

When Liz Hurley, a local television news anchor, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998, she put a courageous face on breast cancer for all of us in the Tennessee Valley. In 1999, the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund at Huntsville Hospital Foundation was established for the purpose of creating awareness about breast cancer, purchasing equipment for breast cancer diagnosis and providing continuing education for the Breast Center staff. Since its inception, more than $2.7 million has been raised and thousands have been touched through this fund. The Liz Hurley Ribbon Run brings together our entire community and support from around the world in the fight against breast cancer. We hope you’ll join us this year!

Packet Pick-Up and Race Expo will be held at Valley Bend at Jones Farm (near Fleet Feet) on Thursday, October 17, from 8 a.m.–6 p.m. and Friday, October 18, from 8 a.m.–7 p.m. Register early! The race is limited to 6,500 runners. Online registration ends October 11; late registration is $40 on Thursday, October 17; there is no registration on Friday, October 18.

Please note: The following are not allowed during the race: strollers, baby joggers, skateboards, bicycles, animals, rollerblades, headphones, unauthorized vehicles, unentered runners, etc. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Violators will be disqualified.

Thank you for joining us in the fight against breast cancer! It is our goal to make every breast cancer patient a survivor!
